On April 16, a Knowledge Café will take place regarding the impact of the earthquake at Zeerijp on November 14, 2025.

The Knowledge Café is being hosted by the Knowledge Platform for a Livable and Prosperous Groningen in collaboration with the research group Gronings Perspectief. Gronings Perspectief has been monitoring the consequences of gas extraction for residents in the region since 2016.

During the meeting, researchers Veerle Wilborts (Nivel) and Annette Scherpenzeel (Nivel) will present the latest insights regarding the psychosocial impact of the earthquake in Zeerijp. These insights are derived from an additional survey conducted among the Groninger Panel.

Following the presentation, a panel will discuss the matter. The panel consists of: Michel Dückers (University of Groningen/Nivel), Yvonne Wiltjer (Institute for Mining Damage Groningen), and Trudy Aleven (resident). There will also be time for questions and experiences from the audience.

The afternoon will be moderated by Lyanne Levy. We will conclude the meeting with a networking reception.
